He needs to go into Theo's group of busts with Drew, Lackey, Renteria, Crawford, etc.

He blows. He had a great 1st half last year, new to league, took advantage. 2nd 1/2 was awful and so far on pace for < 10 HRs and about 75 RBI. Awesome for a $20mm+ player!

Guy stinks, needs to be moved down to 7 or so. 2-3 decent years in SD, otherwise a singles hitter. HGH??
 
I agree he's awful................if I were Ben Cherington I would call Brian Cashman right away and trade him even up for Texierra....NOW!!!
 
Good post. At least they didn't get that Pujols guy, he really sucks, see his stats this year?

Umm, no. He makes $20mm+/year. He's a bust for those $$, if you think otherwise ur the idiot! He hits in front of Papi, ultimate protection.

We're only 1/4 into the season, and the guy drove in 117 rbi last year. Wait until summer or the off season before rating him.

Yes I am the idiot for saying a guy who has finished in the top 10 for MVP voting back to back years, won the silver slugger last year and had a top 10 WAR doesn't suck and shouldn't be batting 7th because he had one bad month.

Some people have no understanding of baseball sabermetrics. It's funny watching them spin themselves up though.

I'm a Yankees fan and I would trade Teixeira for Gonzalez in a heartbeat.

There have been some dumb posts on this board. Congratulations, you made the top 100!
 
Beyond crazy. He's a bust for a $20mm player the same way Crawford is. He had 10 HRs post AS and this year 3 and 21 RBI in 1/4 of season.

Nick Swisher and Granderson have much better power #s.

I would take Texeria a billion times over Gonzo.

Another couple games where A Gon continues to bash. On pace for 11 jacks now.

The idea you think he deserves to be paid among top 5 position players suggests I know a little more about baseball than you.

Did I say he deserves to be paid as a top 5 player? You think Tex is better then A Gon but you know more about baseball then me umm ok.

Nah, he isn't CaliCuse. Cali would be sending half the Yankee lineup to the minors and bringing up AAA players. Husky91 does challange Cali's insanity and lack of baseball knowledge but Cali remains in a class of his own.

2011 Avg: .338 HRs: 27 RBIs: 117
And yes, he was injured and didn't hit as well the second half but those are not the numbers of a bust. He is not off to a good start but he will hit over .300 with over 100 RBIs. The baseball season is a marathon not a sprint and we are only about 1/4 through the season.
I was condescending because your post was just plain dumb and you have nothing to support your opinion. It would be one thing to say Gonzalez is overated but you didn't say that, you called him a bust and at least 3 former college players in this thread called you on it.
