have you heard of this, are you taking part in this?

piggy bank, shoebox (taped tightly) or online bank acct (with no checks or ATM card)

once a week (maybe fridays) you deposit the amount of whatever week (of the year) we're on.

Start of the year:
1st Friday = deposit $1.00
2nd Friday = deposit $2.00
32nd Friday = deposit $32.00
47th Friday = deposit $47.00

and at the end of the year you would have over $1300.00 saved
may be a nice challenge for some teenage kids or young adult.

download the chart HERE where its easily explained

TJI's version ... every night i get home, I check my wallet and any $5s go into a "cookie" jar.... it's how I'm going to Turkey for the Worlds

Back when I worked in the city, I would throw all my loose coin in a counter each night. It was amazing.

I still do that with coin, but in this day and age of using credit cards and the fact I'm not out so much, I don't end up with so much.

I knew someone that did the $5.00 trick, although I forget what they did at the end.

Wells Fargo has a Way to Save account, where they will deduct a set amount each month from your checking account and put it there, they pay a higher % on I think the first $500.00... a little bonus helper...

even if you try but only save half its still a nice chunk of change for those who dont save at all

I have a giant jar of change. One of these days i'll buy some wrappers and count it.

try the challenge... those coins aren't going to add up to 1400.00 at the end of the year

Week 2 just past, there should be $3.00 in the "Challenge Account"

I see that they also charge you a FEE if you have under 300.00 in the account or seet up and maintain one or more automatic, recurring savings options.

auto saving I guess would be good

They started asking for their change in 10s and singles.
