At the risk of sending this thread to the dark pool, they are going to look back in 50 years at the drug laws today and they will wonder what the hell we were all thinking.

Prison population grew by 700% in the 35 years after 1970.
U.S. has 5% of the world population and has 25% of all prisoners in the world.
1 in 15 black males is currently incarcerated.
1/2 of all state prisoners are in for non-violent crimes.
More than 1 in 5 people in jail in the U.S. are there for drug offenses (about a third of a million).

It's time to let people do what they want with their own bodies, with the same stipulation that we use for one of the worst drugs of all - alcohol - if you do the drug and then endanger others, you'll be held responsible.

Get on with it, and let's end this stupidity.

(Note - not a user of any drugs, except beer, and no plans to use any drugs).
