Not sure if you all have seen the tweets coming from the beat writers from the post game, but a lot of it was about what Oriakhi said at the team meeting. Seems like he is truly stepping up his leadership. Here are some of the tweets:

From Kevin Duffy:
Oriakhi: "I told guys, I'm willing to give up my minutes, I don't care anymore. I don't care if I'm on the bench...I just want to win."

Dom:
"Oriakhi apologized to teammates for being selfish, worrying about minutes. Roscoe Smith did the same. That was jumping off point"
"Alex Oriakhi on team meeting "it was emotional, it was a special meeting." guys bought in. I said, 'are you in or out?"

Props to Alex for being a leader, it takes a big man to admit they were being selfish. This is true leadership and can only bode well for the rest of the season.

That's awesome, Oriakhi bucked up and said what needed to be said. Let's go A O!

What shoud his apology be? Sorry I was one of the keys to starting the team at 10-1???

Really lol you dont think Napier should be apologizing to the team. The 10-1 was against scrub teams that even our backups could have beat. I still dont get why you are constantly making excuses for Napier. Oriakhi did the right thing by having a heart to heart with the guys and apologizing for his selfish behavior, and I have no problem with that even though I root for Alex and think he should be starting along with roscoe.

So during this meeting, are we really believing that only Scoe and AO said anything/apologized?

People need to stop taking everything they read in the press as black and white.

This is great to hear. Maybe Alex is finally starting to mature into his leadership role.

Alex also responded with an almost double double. Roscoe hit some shots. Amazing when your not focusing on stats you play better.

You're an idiot quite honestly - never heard crap from you when he had great games early, he slumps you're there to be sure everyone knows you're the fn hoops guru with the wealth of knowledge. I hope you're right and AO and Roscoe start because they start playing like they did at points last season....noone here would be unhappy to crown you king fn guru at that point. But neither has done anything, even after today, to prove otherwise. So leave it alone, go put up your Ryan Boatright poster up (without tape I'm sure you can make that happen) and just be a Husky fan and not a "huskymagic" fan......or go away!

Yeah Rico the expletives were being typed like I was thinking and it was too late.....my bad!! Just kinda sick of the pattern with magic-man.

Thought the win for the kids but when I read his I think he believes its because of him and his cyber coaching.......or could he be George Blaney? lol

Shabazz's apology: "Sorry I got the flu, a root canal, an injured ankle, and a cold when I was the only point guard dressed and had to play 40 minutes a game. I decided to save a few bucks and buy cheap toothpaste and regular strength nyquil instead of extra strength. Next time, I'll splurge."

haha you have been thinking about writing this for a while and the subtle banalities make it this post even funnier.

Thanks for that as well- I feel like a responsibility was lifted.

When AO has the right mindset the team seems to follow suit. The bigs are going to have to have a really good game playing at Lville Monday.

wheres napiers apology to the team?
Team started off well with Shabazz and Jeremy being touted as the best tandem of guards by most of the idiots on this board and the national sportscasters. They were very good at scoring. Then Alex went into his funk. Tweeted JC was a mumu. The coaches messed with the guards and insisted they get the ball to the bigs. And of course the bigs struggled to finish in AO's case, or be strong to get position, in Andre's case. That was when the team ran screens and tried to get them free.

Most of the first halves were dedicated to trying to fix this. By that time UConn was in the hole. And then the guards started to press. They started missing and then it became a mental thing for them.

Shabazz was only a part of the problem. Alex was more likely a bigger problem for the team. And who knows what Jamal Coombs-McDaniel was feeding everyone.
