UO should be very good. However they are replacing most of their bench rotation from last year, and they don't have a lot of depth. They need to do some retooling as well.

Last night's result wasn't overwhelming for OSU, but Rueck was experimenting most of the game. A lot of subbing, a lot of different combinations. He'll settle on a rotation soon enough and his core players should get more minutes.

Maybe you don't realize we are at the very beginning of the 2018-19 NCAA Division 1 WBB season? Good luck predicting who is and who is not a FINAL 4 team? Has UO WBB ever been to a FINAL 4? I'm not saying UO won't this year, but a lot has to go right for any team to make the FINAL 4. UO is an excellent team, but you are seriously stepping way beyond what is reasonable conjecture at this time in the season about UO, PAC-12 race, and, FINAL 4. BTW, I appreciate that you actually tuned into the OSU game-thanks. I look forward to exchanging our thoughts. And one thing we do agree on is GO HUSKIES (UCONN that is).
Everything we post about the season at this point is opinion/speculation. You are just as entitled to your point of view as I am, and have the same odds of being accurate. That being said, let's stop quoting past results of these teams like they are direct indicators of what will happen this season. Yes, the 2018-19 season, which I do realize just started. Lol. Oregon has never had a team this talented and potentially explosive on the offensive end. 1 thru 5 they have contributors in a meaningful way and they have size, experience and chemistry, some things even UConn lacks at this point. So, let's judge the pac-12 by what we most at this moment... Oregon is on another level than Oregon St and Stanford, and yes, if we had to pick FF teams right now in our humble opinions, how do you leave Oregon out? Or even better, put Oregon St and/or Stanford in? C'mon, keep it real, what I'm saying is very logical, despite being bold. Lol. Go Huskies!

Dude... By 2nd tier I mean non-final four caliber team. It's not just about it being 1 game, it's about the parts and how they work as a whole. We can revisit this conversation in March, just don't try to bog me down in overanalyzing to cover up for what was obvious. Oregon is only introducing one new player, Boley, is a talented perimeter threat and has size to help on the boards. Hebard is as good as anybody in the paint and S abally gives you anything you want anywhere on the floor. Or St has no true matchup for any of these 3 girls, nevermind their starting center is a liability on both ends of the court. Again, we'll see in March. Go Huskies!
If 2nd tier means non-FF, then I believe Oregon AND OSU are 2nd tier. Oregon just hasn't shown they can beat truly elite teams and, IMO, this year they won't beat any elite teams with real speed. The Ducks - especially Ionescu - are just not fast enough to compete with "1st tier" speed.

So name the teams that are "better" not faster that you believe will be in the FF ahead of them?

ND, UConn, Baylor, Miss. State, possibly S. Carolina. IMO Oregon will fall in with that 2nd group of Louisville, Stanford, TN, Texas, etc. They're not doing anything to change my mind today vs. Syracuse either.

I would put Louisville before Miss St and definitely before S. Carolina.

Whatever - who knows. I just think Oregon is way overrated. They're a nice little team for the PAC-12 I guess. Today's game with Syracuse isn't changing my mind.

I feel your pain, and maybe Baylor could slide ahead of them on the strength of their freshman off the bench. However, I'm not sold on MSST who are clearly deficient beyond the arc and have no proven scorers aside from McGowan who is just a force. And the same goes for Lousville and SCarolina, both have taken losses in graduation that leave them with big holes in their lineups. Of course, it will all come out in the wash, I think we saw Oregon play a very athletic team and were clearly shown where their deficiencies are and work is needed. That being said, despite having an off day all the way around the board and it being early for them as well, they pulled out the victory. I rather overstate them than underestimate them. Go Huskies!

Early in the year, but not the best game for Oregon. They looked slow and nothing about what they did was very crisp or in rhythm. Ionescu is a stud but we didn't see a lot of her, Cazorla or Sabally beating defenders off the dribble. Not enough touches for Hebard. Boley struggled shooting but most days she'll shoot better IMO. Still dangerous team, but I'm guessing they're a big step behind UCONN. I think they'll be a 3-4 loss team this year. Mississippi State will be a very tough matchup for them IMO. Can't wait to see that game.

Syracuse was very tough...was hoping they'd pull it out. They played smart basketball where they applied enough pressure to get OU out of system but didn't force the issue to sacrifice a fast break basket. Should give teams a challenge in the ACC. His teams are always fun to watch.
