Opening Weekend Series v. #4/#8 Louisville in Lakeland Florida (Fri. 2/15 @6p, Sat. 2/16 @3p & Sun. 2/17 @ *12:30p*)

Two batters walked, but Wang comes up with another scoreless inning.

Kenny Haus in to pitch the 8th. Guessing Joe Simeone will start tomorrow, but he was up in the bullpen, so you never know.

Offense has been rough today. Was hoping for some more positives there.

Nice to see Jimmy pitch well.

Getting some runs early would be nice to allow Joe to not feel that he has to be perfect and more aggressive and challenge Louisville hitters

Simeone is also coming off of hip surgery and I don't think he has pitched a lot in the preseason, so don't expect him to be in the game for the long haul. If he could go 4 or 5 effective innings today he will have done his job.

I had an idea that either Kyler Fedko or Will Lucas would end up getting moved to the outfield at some point during their career at UConn. Whatever the case, Kyler is getting a look.

Bottom 1st, Simeone hits the second batter who eventually comes in to score on a single. 1-0 Louisville, UConn coming to bat.

Damn, sounds like it was a really good inning for Joe besides grazing a kid's jersey and allowing a ground ball through the infield in the wrong place. Hopefully we get some breaks like that, too.

Top 2nd, Christian Fedko has a lead off single but is stranded. 1-0 Louisville.

Bottom 2nd, Simeone leaves a couple of two out runners on base for a scoreless inning.
