The next step to take is dispatch an FCS team with ease to get off on the right foot. Show no mercy. Score often. Play stout defense. Pile up the score & play the subs in the 2nd half.
If UConn allows Maine to hang around, I will be disappointed. If the unthinkable happens..(Idon't even want to think about it.)
Score big. Win decisively. Make Maine be thankful for the guaranteed check & nurse their wounds on the long bus ride home.

No one who loves the Huskies wants to see a score scrolling at the bottom saying
UConn 17--Maine 12.
That will elicit all kinds of guffaws from the haters and the other schools vying for P-5 entry. Show me UConn 52- Maine 16--or better.

Do the kind of things Edsall did in these games. Even when his teams were not that good he always whipped up on the FCS team on the schedule. Run the 1s out there for the first half regardless of the score. Call off the dogs after the 1st possession of the 2nd half. 36-3, 42-10 56-7. Something like that. I am sick of struggling against these teams.
