I'm not saying concerns aren't valid. I'm not even say I don't share them. I am just saying given the coaches, programs and Carolines comments on that matter they are inappropriate at this point. If someone is saying they are planning and want people do indicate that as well, its not respectful to keep questioning that in my opinion.

Every time Caroline gets brought up there are 5-6 posts speculating whether she will or should ever play basketball again despite both her and her coach and the program saying they plan on having her available. You don't believe them? That is ok but at this point stay silent about it because its someone's health and wellbeing that you are speculating and I couldn't imagine the pain of reading those comments if I were her or her family. That is just my POV and why I spoke so strongly.
It's not a matter of not believing but a matter of being genuinely concerned as fans. A plan can be in place and all intentions are good and it still may not work out. Most fans here want the best for Caroline long term.

I also get the point about how a family may perceive the comments from fans, but I'd assume similar comments could be coming from their own family and friends. Compared to some of the stuff that has been posted on this board and on social media about NCAAW & WNBA players, these comments are of genuine concern and nothing else.

When the same worries keep appearing over and over it's too much. They seem to be hinting that maybe they know more about her case than the physicians treating her with little more than anecdotal episodes in their lives as evidence.

I may think that a friend I haven't seen in 15 years has aged terribly, I don't tell them that.

The same is said about the fears of injuries every season. It doesn't stop people from posting their thoughts and criticisms of the athletic trainer, FIBA tournaments, jinxes, etc.

As I stated earlier because of my situation, I'm more empathetic in this case. I don't consider what I've seen those close to me have gone and are going through as being anecdotal. When I see similar posts, I give them the benefit of the doubt because of it.

It's one thing to to say "idk when Carol will be available". Its another thing to say "Who knows if Carol will ever play basketball again. My neighbor had a concussion with similar symptoms and had to retire from the sport completely just to be able to read with lights on again."
We are not her doctors. We are not her family and friends. Our intentions matter far less than the impact of our words. Just because the words are coming from a good place doesn't mean they are any less harmful. I am not a moderator of this board and the moderators here do a great job so I trust them to make the line, I am just giving an explanation of why I responded so harshly. Years of the same comments about Carol aren't productive imo especially when they ignore or contradict her words, Geno's words on the matter and/or the university's words on the matter. Just hurtful and unnecessary speculation at this point. She has said she is returning, Geno has said she is returning so we should take them at their word until the give us a different update.

Exactly!

And I've given mine as to why I can empathize with why some posters have expressed their views as well. Majority of my comments about Caroline have been optimistic about her return so it's not like I've part of the doom and gloom mentality.

As I stated in my original reply, I won't consider Caroline, Aubrey, etc. as part of the rotation until the coaches confirm their actual date of return. That leaves the team with a shorter rotation to work with during the non-conference portion and short on playing experience at the NCAA D1 level which was your opinion on the situation.
