One bad half all years against Louisville where it seemed we got complacent and lost energy. Otherwise this team has been in it to win it every game. in our other 4 losses beyond Louisville(which we did lead by double digits in first half)

We had lead late against New Mexico

We had 17 point lead against NCST and it shouldve been bigger --never shouldve lost that

Desperation 3 for Marquette otherwise we won it.

Pitt tied late after sitting 10 down most of the game.

So far to this date no one wouldve predicted the success we have had. A lot of credit to the coach and players. If they all stay and improve and we get reinforcements for the front-line--this is an NCAA champion contender next year.

Agree about the one bad half if by one bad half you mean a half where the team was blown out in the score. I would say that the second half was the result of Siva back in the game and SN's injury. A healthy SN and that half could have turned out differently. There are very few teams that UConn really needed 2 ball handlers and the injury to Shabazz removed him from that option.

So far, this has been one of those teams that I love to watch. They don't quit. Anyone who thinks this team is bad hasn't a clue. Everybody knows they were left virtually naked in the front court by 3 kids who would be a dominating front court (yes, I count Oriaki at least as compared to who we were left with) not to mention the departure of a stud at shooting guard/small forward. No tournament to play for, meaning in theory less incentive than almost every opponent. Will the rebounding problems cost them some games? Probably. But so far there isn't a game that I think we should no way have lost that we did, and a few wins that are pretty nice. They have every prospect of ending up no worse than what would have been a bubble team. Whatever the final record, this is a tough-minded team and a nice job by KO.

And that stud shooting guard was a very good rebounder! I am blown away by this team which on pencil and paper should be a basement dweller!

And the first half against Pitt? That was right after the horrible 2nd half against Louisville. If they don't fall behind by 13 in the first half there's a chance they take that game.

You can pick apart just about any program for bad halves in games. NBA teams routinely have atrocious halves. On paper, this team should have a great many more "bad halves" than it does. National Championship caliber we are not. Gutty, for sure.

A chance?' We definitely would have won. Still should have even being down 13. We were right there at the end. But to everyone who says this team sucks. To be down 13 at Pitt and to be tied with two min to go shows what this team is made of
