Haven’t seen Liberty play. They‘re at Arkansas today.4pm Eastern on ESPN+. Should be a physical battle with the Hogs. Ark is favored by 13.5
Arkansas is the first of two Power-Five games for Liberty. They play Virginia Tech in two weeks—so UConn is their sandwich game. it’s a perfect spot for us. If ever they’d be prone to a letdown effort it’s here next week.
We should hope so. Against BYU they rushed for 300 yards and threw for 247. They’re 7-1 and Hugh Freeze has them believing. He’s also being rumored for the Auburn job so maybe the distraction may build during the week —and help us on Saturday..

If we cant diversify on O, wr will have some struggles. Zion needs some help with pass play design. Id likr to see some use of the the tight ends just stopping quickly 7 yards or so over the middle. Turner seems pretty accurate with those type of throws. The passes to the flat get us zilch.

The coaching staff has shown impressive flexibility in their approach. Yesterday, against a team they thought we were clearly better than, they played vanilla to limit mistakes. Against BC they blitzed like crazy. Charlton has dialed up a variety of trick plays in games against tougher opponents. We’ve aired it out early against better teams. I think they probably wish they had the second half of the Ball State game back, but we still win that game absent some truly terrible calls by the refs, so hard to say the conservative strategy there was objectively awful.

I agree that if we get a lead against Liberty, we will need to keep scoring and not just try lean on the D for 30 minutes.

Good chance that the defense holds on and we escape Muncie with a win if Rosa doesn’t fumble the ball. That, by the way, was the last time we’ve turned the ball over.

Is there a cap on how good we can be without a passing offense? Of course there is. But we‘re not at it yet.
