The coaching staff has shown impressive flexibility in their approach. Yesterday, against a team they thought we were clearly better than, they played vanilla to limit mistakes. Against BC they blitzed like crazy. Charlton has dialed up a variety of trick plays in games against tougher opponents. We’ve aired it out early against better teams. I think they probably wish they had the second half of the Ball State game back, but we still win that game absent some truly terrible calls by the refs, so hard to say the conservative strategy there was objectively awful.
I agree that if we get a lead against Liberty, we will need to keep scoring and not just try lean on the D for 30 minutes.
