...the last time I was this down on the team was after 26-0 loss to Louisville in 2010 before we went on the streak to win the Big East conference. I was so sure we sucked after losing that game (and to Rutgers the week before) that I used the money budgeted for a Bowl game trip to buy a nice TV (FYI - I wound up going to Arizona anyway).

I know it's not much but at last there is precedent...

They had a real reason for that loss. That was the week Endres and I believe Kuraceza got kicked off the team. Edsall seemed to bend to the general distaste of Frazer and started Box. One of the few times I remember him doing that - he stuck with TC even though everyone knew Brown should play. Guess he was OK with letting the masses know when they were wrong.

You are correct, it's not impossible for us to beat Maryland, win that game and the mood will change quickly. I don't like our chances but I didn't think we had a chance against Louisville last year either.

Last year we lost to a bad Western Michigan team in ugly fashion, and beat Louisville, maybe we should expect the unexpected, like a meteor crashing through your roof. I know, i'm grasping at meteors.

We could very well beat Maryland and Michigan it's a college FB game. The loss wasn't just a loss. It was a sign that this 3-yr experience with PP isn't going to a 4th because nothing has improved from the day he arrived and after a second 5-7, the team came out flatter than flat showing the same warts from the last two years.

If we win the next 3 games or make & win a bowl game, certainly the mood will change but who is crazy enough to predict that based on what they've seen from the P era?

It's just the first game guys...geez Louise!! This could have been a blessing in disguise in that now everyone on the team is focused like a laser beam on the task at hand. And now they have to sit and stew with it for 2 weeks so no excuses for not preparing for Maryland. Lets go Dogs!!! Kill Maryland!!
