One of worst officiated games I've ever seen

And the ref choke of the night on the Burke block. They let Siva hack the hell out of Robinson at the other end, then call that.

Michigan getting hosed big time.

Why the hell isn't Belien calling a timeout?

not shocked at all, with the officiating we had to endure and the way the Pac 12 issued their officiating.

If only JC could work the sidelines. He would have these refs purring like kittens :)

My only thing is that you just let Siva reach in from behind and hack away to stop a lay up. If you are going to say "play on" there, how do anticipate a foul 20 seconds later?

You could seriously call a couple of fouls on Louisville every possession. Refs have been screwing Michigan bigtime.

the more contact the zebras allow, the more L'Ville benefits. They just hack you constantly figuring the refs can't call it all.
But the horrendous foul call on that great above the rim block by Burke just turned the game.

Hancock is gone at least. Siva has around 9-10 fouls minimum.

They play so frantic they get away with a lot of it. Been that way for about 2 years.

People who bet big on big games have to stop screaming about how something is "the worst officiated game ever". The game is being called fine.

In the first half, I thought they were just plain bad - nobody benefitting other than the second on Burke (which opened the door for Albrecht). The officiating has been better in the second half, although the couple question marks - the third on McGary and the block by Burke - were game-changing calls that went against Michigan.

McGary had a total choke hold on Behanan's layup around hjs neck. Another egregious miss.

I didn't bet. My post was from halftime. And at that point it was. The officials were a joke in the first half. Second half has been better, other than the Burke block.

These guys are awful. I'm not even sure anyone has benefitted. They've just been awful for awfulness's sake.
They let them play. Officials had nothing to do with the outcome of the game.

Don't feed the troll

I didn't say they did. At the half, when I posted, the game was tied. And the officials were a clown show. The second half was better - they were fine. The two blatant misses were the Burke block and not giving Behanan the and one when McGary grabbed him around the neck, but over the course of 20 minutes they'll miss one or two.

The officiating was utterly horrendous going both ways, but Michigan lost it because their clock management was even worse in the lats two minutes, their execution was atrocious, and Bielein's game management was the worst of all. Makes you realize how fortunate we were to have JC on the sideline for all three of ours, and hopefully he's imparted that wisdom on KO.

Worst officiated NCAA game I've seen in a LONG time. Terrible calls both ways. Michigan got screwed more though. No doubt if the game was called fairly, than Michigan wins more often than not. I have no bias. In fact, I picked Lousiville to win it all in my bracket.

Two words: John Cahill

How does this poor excuse for a ref continually get picked for the finals??? He has literally been the worst ref in the country for years now...

I was rooting for Louisville to win once it got to the last four teams, but I was supporting Michigan by the end. Louisville is seriously playing a different sport than any of the other teams. They actually commit at least one foul for each ten seconds of defense. Siva especially could probably foul out of every single game. The last two games the refs "let them play" (let Louisville reach and grab) and it was one of the biggest factors for them winning the game.

You're an idiot if u think that was a clean game from an officiating standpoint. And I did not bet on the game and have no dog on the fight. I was brutal, both ways.

The clock management would have been ok if they came down with that defensive rebound inbounds. That changed everything. Would have been about 50 seconds with the ball, down four. After that, they lost clock when they were sort of caught with Burke defending the ball not wanting to commit his fifth. Yes, he could have been out of the game, but you also want to think about having your best player out there while there is still time to trap and force a turnover.

It was horrendously officiated for both teams. Behannan and Dieng were mauled all night on the inside, and Siva was continuously fouled going to the rim; christ, McGary could have easily fouled out about 3 times.

That being said......are they kidding me calling the foul on Burke on that block? Not giving Hancock his 4th and giving it to Harrell?

Clownish officiating. Until they started fouling to extend the game, Michigan held a 10 foul advantage in the game, so they really have no reason to cry or complain.

But the refs made their best attempt to ruin a very entertaining national championship.
