Only thing that would have made my off-season was if Warde Manuel fired the entire staff and started over. With that not happening...if today's reports are true that DeLeone is moving on...the ONLY thing I want to see more than anything else is Matt Cersosimo replaced as wr coach/recruiting coordinator. If it doesn't happen now...it definitely will when P is fired at the end of the season!

I have no idea why you hate Cersosimo so much. Who do you think we're gonna get as a replacement, Tee Martin?

It's not hate.

It's his inability as a WR coach to develop a single WR during his entire time here (Marcus Easley being the one debatable name).

You can blame the lack of talent he has to work with as the WR coach. Which leads you back to the recruiting coordinator the past several years, which was Matt C.

No matter what we hear of recruits or transfers, the WR corps has been consistently mediocre. Outside of Easley I can't think of another WR that has improved dramatically while they were at Uconn. They left the same player they were coming in to Uconn.

Even if a receiver has been good here, are they able to stand out? It's hard to look good when your quarterbacks are DJ Hernandez, Tyler Lorenzen, Zach Frazer and Johnny McEntee. Or when the coordinators are Moorhead and Deleone. Or the coaches are Edsall and Pasqualoni.

If you don't think he recruits well, then just say that you want the whole staff fired, because he recruits better than anyone on the current staff.

And I think it's pretty offensive to Kashif Moore to say he didn't develop when he was at UConn.

This EXACT reason! Oh yeah...like Chin said...he is the recruiting coordinator...the guy who makes up the big board of potential recruits...the guy who told a good friend of mine..who is also a former Husky co-capt that they needed to evaluate film on a kid from his hs in NJ when the kid holds offers from pretty much every ACC and B1G school in addition to Alabama, USC, and Oregeon. Good riddance when he leaves! I doubt he gets another BCS level job after he leaves UConn.

The statement about him being the BEST recruiter on the staff is one of the most laughable posts I have seen since I joined this staff. Our wr's block poorly downfield and run poor routes.

Who is a better recruiter?

Are you serious? This isn't like gambling. You don't just tail guys when you're making a decision. How many times is a recruit offered with absolutely no visual evaluation?

It's more like being a day late on evaluating the kid...who is a better recruiter...Brown, DeLeone, Wholley, Foley...I made up my opinion about Cersosimo from information I collected from a former collegue of his who left for another BCS school. Since you are the one who said he was "the best recruiter" tell me who he has landed as a recruit since he has been here...
And since you seem to be the only one singing his praises...please tell me why he doesn't recruit CT since his dad is a Ct hs coach..and he played hs ball for his dad

I know EXACTLY what recruiting is all about. So don't the guys who have schooled me in the intracacies of it. They ALL played at UConn..some were co-Captains. Through them I was able to get to know a lot of their former teamates..sone who coached at UConn for Edsall. No Cersosimo fans in that group either!

How about the two best recruits in this class, Bradley and Thomas.

The CT coaches wrote a letter supporting Pasqualoni as head coach. Connecticut has very few D-1 targets that are in-state, and even less that are offered by UConn. It's not a state that is contested very often, and UConn should have the upper hand in most recruiting battles, so they're not going to put their best recruiter in that spot, when he can recruit another area.

I'll ask again, who do you want to replace Cersosimo?

You can't offer a kid sight unseen. You just can't.

As far as development goes, tough to develop WRs without adequate QB play. I do think Davis is developing nicely.

Then they should know that kids aren't offered without being evaluated. Please tell me one time a kid has been offered sight unseen by a D-1A school.

I wanted Jeff Haffley to replace him a few years ago BUT I'd take Tee Martin now..if CT ONLY produces a few D-1A players each yr why isn't our "BEST recruiter" as you call him and CT native recruiting them...it's about doing due diligence and keeping tabs on places you have had recruiting success in the past, NOT offerig a blind scholarship...this kid from NJ plays at a HS that has produced at LEAST 3 UConn co-captains the last being Donald Brown to go along with several other players, a pipeline as my buddy calls it (he is one of those former co-captains). Why is it that as recruiting coordinator he isn't calling the head coach at Red Bank Catholic on a regular basis? They recruited a TE out of there a year or two ago and were gain a day late and a dime short. I didn't ask you who he recruited for the incoming class...I asked you who he recruited on the present roster? All the time Cersosimo has been here and ypu are hanging your hat on the developement of Davis? I am sure he wasn't asked by Edsall to join him at MD. That says to me a LOT about his recruiting ability!

Kash?

I thought about Kash and to be honest I don't think he improved that much as a player while he was at Uconn. And it's not a knock on Kash. His game and skill level was pretty high when he got here. He worked his butt off as an UDFA and eventually got signed on to the San Diego Chargers practice squad.

I don't think anyone "coached" him how to make that catch against South Carolina.

You can't teach "dirty"... I just think his routes got sharper each year. IMO.
