Storrs Central: On-Court Autograph & Picture Session with UConn MBB - August 3rd following the Open Team Workout

Just to be clear. These wristbands aren't needed to be seated in the front row or lower sections during the free open practice?

Anybody else going to the open practice (the free part)? I was surprised they didn't offer it to STHs first before the GP. I just happened to see it on Facebook.

I think the people who doled out the 40 bucks are getting the lower seats.

What exactly do you get for the $40? Is it one autograph of each player?

.-.

To me these are two separate things. The open practice has always be free. Adding monetary element to a free event where if you arrived early you get the best seats is a disservice to fans, not a benefit. Just another example of Storrs Central monetizing something that was previously free.

So on Saturday, this is announced as “Wristband holders will be seated in the lower three mid-court sections on both sides.” That night I dole out more than $100 for tickets based on that information.

A couple days later it is announced that Just kidding! “UPDATE: During the practice portion there will not be assigned seating for anyone.”

No exception for people who had already purchased being told they were getting guaranteed lower-level seating, no offer to do anything to make up for changing what we had purchased after the fact — not even actually reaching out at all, just a reply to a tweet from a couple days prior.

Really horrible communication on this. I still don’t know what to expect.

Does the open practice start at 12:15 or is that the autograph session?
What time is open practice start?

That's why I asked. It was always a free practice. There has never been assigned seating. There were clearly two different times referenced.

Tacking on this unnecessary "premium" and how the information was shared def muddied the waters in what is supposed to be a nice easily accessible event.

I’ll be there.

So how much does the team have organized practices during the preseason prior to First Night on October 13?

I’m always intrigued by the team’s daily routines and behind the scenes schematics. Would love to hear more about this on the numerous podcasts

I’m not sure if they sold out or not. But I have an extra ticket if someone wants to go. Wife bailed on me lmao

I’m here now and line to get in for an 11am practice in August was nuts! This is awesome.

No Tarris out here is the one thing that stands out. Anyone know what’s going on there?

Other early observation - Abraham is a dude. Guy is chiseled for a freshman.
