Olympics hockey 2026

I keep thinking Kenny Albert is saying Scalabrine.

Canada missed at least two shots they should've scored on. They definitely outplayed US in 3rd period. Hellebuyck is playing game of his life, although he did get lucky on those two shots mentioned above. Binnington no slouch either.

That said, as many opportunities as Canada has missed, I can't see them losing 3 on 3. Nobody is keeping up with McDavid.

Of course there's OT who couldn't have predicted that.

I’m not a big fan of 3 on 3 OT but it worked well for both Men and Women. Great saves by Connor in both second and third periods.

.-.
I don't mind three on three for reguar season NHL overtimes (although I still don't see why they felt the need to eliminate ties), but for games that actually have playoff (or olympic medal) stakes, it's kind of ridiculous.

Jack Hughes with the broken teeth and game winner. Hellebuyck looking like Jim Craig 2.0. Herb would be proud.

Talk about destiny. Brock Nelson wins a gold like grandfather and great uncle in Squaw Valley. His uncle is Dave Christian from Lake Placid. I remember Dave.

.-.
Is it just me, or does the US team have more Canadian surnames than the Canadians do?

Great game... but just like the OT winning goal in the women's game, NBC's camera work sucks.... GOAL! and then six long seconds of a wide shot of the Canadian end and crowd behind the goal while Hughes skates up the ice celebrating to greet his teammates. They totally missed it when it happened.

The US team has been invited to the White House Tuesday. They seemed pretty excited to go.
