Olympics hockey 2026

Who's watching?

Former UConn star Sage Thompson scored for USA vs Latvia, in a 5 - 1 win. They look like they have a shot to do well in Milan.
.

They looked good today but Latvia only has, I believe, 6 NHLers which is pretty low. I think only Italy has less. We’ll know more soon though and I hope they’re in contention.

They showed graphic during the Latvia game of number of NHL games played. Latvia was around 2000 and USA was at least six times that.

They were flying around early and had two goals reversed in appeal. One for offside and the other for goalie interference.

They’ll be at it again Saturday and Sunday. Both games at 3:10. Denmark and then Germany.

Men knockout rounds starting this week.

Canada seeded #1 due to goal differential. USA is #2

First game is tomorrow (2/18 Wed ) vs Sweden . That will not be an easy one as Sweden has a bunch of NHL players and really good defense.

Canada had to to tie the game 3-3 vs Czechia with 3 min left and won it in OT. Almost lost ........

Finland just beat Switzerland in OT 3-2 after being down 2-0 most of game. They tied it with about two minutes left in third period. US needs to come out ready to play against Sweden.

Playing 3 on 3 vs McDavid must be a nightmare. He didn't score, but I don't know if he ever left the ice.

US stopped putting pressure on the Sweden team in the 2nd half of the 3rd period . Sweden tied with the extra attacker.

This is familiar to us. UConn also needs to keep applying the pressure on offense and not slow down when leading.
