OL Chase Lundt invited to East-West Shrine Bowl & has accepted invitation to the Senior Bowl

The athletic had him as a rising 2025 draft pick at OT. He was one of 2 OT's listed. Only issue they had was he was too light at OT but had really good athleticism and graded out very well both in rush and pass blocking.

-> Chase Lundt, a senior who will make his team-high 45th career start on Friday night against Georgia State, was invited to the East-West Shrine Bowl on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-8, 305-pound right tackle from Arlington, Texas, came to Storrs in 2019 as a redshirt freshman and has played with a number of eventual NFL players on the UConn offensive line over the years, including Ryan Van Demark (Buffalo Bills), Matt Peart (Denver Broncos) and Christian Haynes (Seattle Seahawks). <-

-> Jim Mora has not coached a game with the UConn football team without having Chase Lundt as his starting offensive right tackle.

That streak will reach 34 Friday night when the Huskies entertain Georgia State at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field.

"He has become very consistent as a football player," Mora said. "He is very dependable. You can count on him to work hard every day and have a great attitude. I can count on him in meetings. You're talking to people in meetings, and sometimes you're looking to people for affirmation that people understand what you say. Chase is the shake your head guy. I look at him, he shakes his head and I go, 'I guess I'm doing OK.' <-

silly questions but
  • is this the premier bowl to get invited to?
  • What is the difference between this and east/west shrine bowl, or any other bowl?
  • and finally, is Senn on his way to a bowl invite? I thought these 2 were on the same level, draft-stock-wise.

1. Yes. Senior Bowl is the highest "honor" to get invited to. Every NFL team is there and it's the highest level of competition all week for drills. The game is an afterthought. It's almost a guarantee you will be drafted if you get a Senior Bowl invite.
2. Difference is quality of competition and the amount of attention from the NFL staffs.
3. Don't know about Senn. He's a LT and Lundt is a RT. Somewhat depends on the depth of the position for each draft. I would be very surprised if Senn doesn't at least sign as an Undrafted Free Agent (UDFA) and get a camp invite.

He has come such a long way since being forced into action his freshman year (when you are one of the two best OTs on the roster as a true freshman, that says a lot about his potential and our thin roster.). Congrats to him to putting in the work necessary to get to where he is now.
