12-12 after 1Q. Taylor Robertson has 9 points, all on 3s.

No Ana Llanusa tonight, her 2nd game in a row to miss.

Robertson reminds me a little of Curry on the court with her movements, lack of defense, and her shooting of course.

.-.
I thought Wear Virginia was close to a tournament lock. Reassessing that right now.

What on earth? Oklahoma up by 20??? On the road?

OU is such a mysterious team. They look like a train wreck one game, then look like a top 25 team the next.

WVU shooting 22%.
It’ll be a miracle if they can win at this point.

It's been this kind of day for both teams:

I just don’t understand how you can gameplan for this game and allow Robertson to shoot 18 threes. You have to make their other players beat you. Also not sure how you can score less than 50 against this Oklahoma defense.

.-.
Taylor Robertson gets a career-high 31 points, including 8 of 18 from 3.

West Virginia was just flat. No energy, no communication, lots of missed layups and other makeable shots.

Every time I think Coale is on the way out the door, she gets another big win.

I’d say she’s on tenure. She doesn’t have to worry about losing her job, just like CViv.

I wouldn't say quite that. I believe her staff changes in the offseason indicate that she can't just do whatever she wants.

I have no doubt she wants to win.

I just realized that Meg Bulger was doing color commentary on this game. I thought she did a great job. I remember watching her play as a high school sophomore and thinking what a great college prospect she was. Her career at WVU was affected by an ACL injury her junior year, but she was a great player on an otherwise just-okay team. Led the Big East in 3FG% her senior year.

So you got me curious with that reference: CVS was making $930K+per year but had a 3 year extension executed in Oct 2017 to expire in April 2021 reducing her salary to $700K with incentives on NCAAT success (sweet 16, elite 8, final four), which frankly, I highly doubt she will ever achieve. Sherri makes $1.1Mil plus so they were somewhat similar, former great coaches who put their university on the map in WCBB lore but who's success lately has been waning...Sherri at least plays a real OOC. CVS, not so much...

And now you all understand why being a WVU fan in general can be so frustrating...

When I watched them beat Texas I was thinking they would be really tough from then on out. Maybe not.

At one time it appears they'd be the team to consistently compete with Baylor for the conference championship. Now, they take one step forward and two steps back.

The Big 12 need a competitive WVU to add SOS to the conference.

I thought Carey was pretty funny, but I do think he’s tough on them, which is kind of his job (unless you’re a female coach, then you best not be tough on them ;)).

They have played 3 games in 8 days and 4 games in 11 games. Then they have to play Baylor 3 days after. It’s been a tough stretch for them, and if you have nagging injuries, it can be difficult for them to heal without a break. Carey said the whole team is “banged up”. Gondrezick has a hammy strain, Martin has a foot issue. Carey’s view is “just go out there and play”. Well, that may be easier said then done.

I watched the game, and above the injury and lack of rest issues, it just seemed like one of those nights where the shots (except FT’s) weren’t falling. I wouldn’t bet the farm on WVU staying as bad as they were in this game.

Robertson is on peace to break the NCAW three point record, I was one of the people here that thought she wouldn’t get off the bench at a school like UConn, but I’m not really about that now. She does have a few defensive limitations, but I think her game would thrive at a school like UConn, where she would have plenty of open looks.

I picked OK and think they will finish no lower than 4th (possibly 3rd) in conference this year.
