Think it was partially the result of two perfect lob opportunities previously passed up by McNeeley.Especially Mahaney. The two he tried in this game were abysmal.
He started driving and Samson was rolling to the weak side. The defense started collapsing on McNeeley, leaving Samson wide open for the lob. Instead of passing he drove into the traffic with bad result.
Happened twice, so Hurly probably stressed to look for Samson and get it to him. Mahaney took the message and unfortunately tried to force it when it wasn’t really there.
