Hey fans - so I’ve been tracking the transfer data for a while, and figure now that most of the players have found homes (Kaelyn Carroll and Kateri Poole excluded), we could have a weekly discussion on each HS top 25 classes going back to 1996 (as data was available). A big shoutout to @bballnut90 who answered the call and filled in a bunch of gaps. If some of the rankings were done by different services, I just picked one for discussion sake. Thankfully we’re not looking back at the whole list of 100, right?
A few notes on formatting - UConn players are in NF blue and anyone winning a natty outlined in red. The numbers at the bottom of the list show the count of players who have transferred, along with the number players who have > 1 transfer. I may combine two years into one post if there weren’t many transfers.
As always, if you see an error of a transfer or national champion not marked, please DM me (conversation) so we can keep the thread kinda clean, okay? Also, even if you think that the decision to transfer was not wise, be nice.
A reminder:

A reminder:
- April 2021: The NCAA Council allowed students in high-transfer sports—including basketball—to transfer once without sitting out, provided they informed their school by certain deadlines.
- 2024: Following a 2024 settlement related to federal lawsuits, the NCAA agreed to allow unlimited transfers without the immediate need for a waiver.
- was the original school a poor choice based on fit and/or stats?
- did the new school provide a better experience (fit/stats)?
- were you surprised with the initial or new school selection?
- any players you wished that had stayed with original school and what do you think would have happened?
- did the decision to transfer help or hurt their pro career?
