USF 19 - UConn 6.

Pasqualoni opens up the press conference with, "we've still got some things to work on".

Some of us think with our heads.....others think with their hearts.

That's not true, actually. If some of us were thinking with our heads, then scorelines of 42-3 USF would be reflected in the Vegas odds. We're all spinsters, one way or another...

Good point. I didn't give our guys enough credit.

USF 19-UConn 10.

I'm not. Looking at this game objectively I think we lose by 2 scores.

We need as fans to have amnesia. We r not going to get rolled like we did vs Syracuse every week. We have lost many different ways this year. I believe we t do. Every dog has his day and ours is Saturday

Cuse dominated USF physically...8 guys for USF got banged up per Skip. You might just have a chance...gotta hope for a bad BJ day. He is so tough to tackle. USF is not a bad team, they just don't know how to finish.

I had a tailgate at USF with about 35 cars and over 100 Cuse fans on Saturday. If anyone needs a suggestion I found an awesome grassy tailgate lot about two blocks east of the 50 yard line of the RayJay. It is on Woodlawn (south side of street) just before Glen.

Directions: Driving on Himes...you'll see a big building with a TV station...turn there on Woodlawn...go two blocks. Cost is $15 to park. If you get there early (she'll be there a minimum of 4 hours prior, earlier than that for a later game)...tell the lady (the owner) to put you where the Cuse fans were last week. Area closest to Woodlawn and Glen. It worked out great for us. The lot has garbage cans and clean porta-johns (as much as they can be clean).

USF 17
UCONN 10

Just don't see this offense scoring enough points to win a big east game this year....hoping I am wrong.

Thanks for the info Mark. U guys had an exciting game. Might have to try that spot. We have a few cars going tomorrow.

It's fine if you think that's what the outcome will be, but you realize that you aren't necessarily thinking any more or less "objectively" than anyone else who has predicted a score, right? Nobody has any "a priori" information about the score of the game, outside of it starting 0-0. We can talk about probabilities, matchups, etc., which may lead us to what we think the score will be, but that is by definition very subjective. People who predict USF winning aren't necessarily the only ones "thinking with their heads" as you put it.

I've got no beef with you, Jimmy. I guess I'm getting a bit "put off" by all the negativity on the board lately. Everyone is using their heads and their hearts, and I don't fault anyone (myself included) for predicting a UConn win...

Dan u are right. Those saying its going to be a lopsided loss are makin emotional decisions too. People think we are going to lose because they are focusing on the outcome of the last game. They have forgotten about the close nc state Maryland n temple game. game.
I'm saying we r going to get some bounces our way this week. Week off , energized legs. A few bounces our way we can get the ball rolling.

I'll do you one better; I'll show that my 21-17 prediction was done by using my head and not my heart:

1) USF has an even worse turnover margin than we do, ranked at 117 in the country (we are 109). Two other teams that have had worse turnover margins are Maryland (111) and Buffalo (115), both teams that we've beaten. Also, USF has not intercepted anyone this year (hard to believe, really), and that is where many of our turnovers have occurred.

2) We've won 3 in a row against USF, and 4 of the last 5.

3) Their quarterback, although more famous than Whitmer, also has a QB rating in the 120's like Whitmer does.

4) USF has historically performed worse as they get deeper into their seasons.

5) There is only one team in the Big East in a larger tailspin than UConn, and that is USF.

So you see? Any prediction can be supported with data. But of course, I was subjective in my implementation. Still, I believe UConn wins 21-17...

The predictions are fun, but how many are heading down? Are we going to have a decent turnout?

How much would you pay to see the offense go three an out? Hope they win, I'll be listening to the game on the radio as I have been for the past two games, I figure I can get things done while the radio is on instead of killing an afternoon hoping the offense will turn it around.

I'm not trying to be a smart guy bigeastconf, but the game is actually at night. We have a group heading down. I was just wondering how many others are going.

I'll be there. Got two friends flying down Friday night.

Two teams heading in the wrong direction...almost seems unfair that one of them will win. Texas Mark, I get you about Daniels but I htink he is maybe the most over-rated quarterback in nmajor college football. He is a run first guy who tends to panic when pressured and takes off. Occassionally those guys can hurt you, but mostly they cost you games because they just run too much. A scrambler who knows how to scramble is one thing, but these guys who just don't have the discipline to stand in there are something else.

6-0 USF. Whitmer drives us inside the 10 with a minute left. Deleone runs wildcat four times, the last a pass to tackle eligible that is caught out of bounds. PP laments lack of execution but is pleased by zone blocking improvements as evidenced by McCombs line of 62 yards on 22 carries.

I'd take 62 yards.
