Game was won by the heart and determination of Bryant Shirreffs.

He took way too many hits because BDTV had zero imagination and allowed Maine to stack the box all game without fear of consequence.

He stayed head up all game and is clearly a leader of the team.

Heisman !!

Bryant Shirreffs is the leader of team Bryant Shirreffs. UConn football still looking for a leader.

It's amazing to me with how often Thomas got open why they didn't go max protect and run 3 routes with Thomas, one TE, and one other receiver. This is football 101 stuff

If BS doesn't get up on his horse and make plays out of sheer will, the game was lost. He is the leader by action and deed.

Wasn't his big thing going to be not rushing as soon as he drops back and sees his first receiver is covered? That was pretty much what comprised 5 of the drives.

Think if I'm looking for anything it's as offensive coordinator.

Verducci is one of the worst playcallers I've ever seen. I truly believe with my 2 years of HS coaching experience I could outcall him on offense.

Did you notice he had pressure almost immediately? There was no pocket to step up into. He was constantly rolling inside out because of inside pressure. Nobody was picking up blitzes and the tackles were getting beat with inside rushes. I agree we can't win with BS's legs. If he can't win with his arm, we are in trouble.

Peart looked straight up bad. For the amount they talked him up in the preseason I thought we were looking at least Will Beatty.

Yup. One concern with tall lineman is leverage. We are very tall and shorter, powerful pass rushers can get in and up into their bodies gettung them off balance and shed them. They also have higher centers of gravity and tend to reach with their upper bodies instead of their legs.
