Happened last year at Wisconsin. So there is recent precedent for such a move in big-time football. Unfortunately the difference here is the head coach (Bielema) pulled the trigger at Wisconsin, and we know there's no way PP will do it on his own. But let's say Warde tells PP to do it, or TJ conveys he's not getting cooperation (or worse) and then Warde does it on his own -- what a soap opera we'd have then, eh?

I have a feeling Warde told P to get rid of him after last season, and P replaced him as OC promising Warde that if GDL just concentrated on the OL there would be serious improvement. As we saw from the Towson game it was the same old OL act...and I will bet that not getting rid of GDL will be a negative or 2 against P keeping his job. He stuck by his boy..and will lose his job because of it!

Now we're at 10 sacks in two games and 34 yards rushing last night. Warde needs to translate his words from last offseason ("we will make the necessary adjustments ") into action. Of course PP will go to the mat for his buddy (love the "attached at their replacement hips" line). Maybe he can follow GDL out the Burton door.

Somehow Wisconsin managed to salvage their season after the change. Starting to get a little tired of this "too early to throw in the towel" and "not fair". Seemed to work in Madison last year. Why not here?

And the O-line recruiting, which should have much of GDL's attention hasn't adequately picked up since the end of last season when the O line supposedly became his only detail.

Sure we have a few verbals, and I like the guys we have coming, but I'm not sure any of them are an upgrade over the current crop. We really need some 6'5''+ OT with 290lbs+. As of right now, a lot is riding on Chaz Wright. I don't know what else we have for the OT position beyond him that we don't already have in house. And the in house youngsters don't appear to be challenging Hemingway.
