ODU To Join Sun Belt Conference

To many this may be a ho hum story. But for me I find this interesting because this is a program that won the AIAW national championships in 1979 and 1980 and the NCAA championship in 1985. Nancy Lieberman and Anne Donovan played for this program. They were once a big deal and were relevant through most of the early 2000's. I think it's kind of sad that this program has become somewhat of an afterthought after remembering what they once were.

Old Dominion to join Sun Belt Conference by '23

Old Dominion will join the Sun Belt Conference no later than July 1, 2023, the conference announced Wednesday, which will increase its membership to 14 schools.

Once the big schools started putting money into their programs, mid major teams didn’t have much of a chance.

With the BiG snd SEC teams making millions more than others, could be Uconns fate in 20-30 years as well.

why would the Colonial want anyone from the MEAC? their FB teams would get destroyed in the Colonial
