In a moving piece by ESPN they asked some of his old players from Ryan's great Bears team to read his letter back to them when HE left the Bears! Years earlier all his players had written Bears owner, George Halas, letters to keep Buddy Ryan as the Bears Coach! When he left he sent each of those players a letter thanking them for their loyalty years before! Each of those players got so emotional rereading the letter that they said they couldn't read it on camera! Some tried but emotions got in the way!
As an ex-coach, it amazes me the emotional ties a coach has with his or her players long after their athletic days are over!
It is truly a BAND OF BROTHERS!
