Well, you know, having spent my high school years in Nebraska, if you don't like shoveling snow, bowling is a good winter indoor activity. There are no mountains nearby for downhill skiing, and snowshoeing or cross cornfield skiing just isn't that exciting.

P.S. For those who are unhappy over the word and athletic logo rebranding happening at UConn, Nebraska managed just fine with the change from Cornhuskers to just plain Huskers. Though the abandonment of Harry Husker for Herbie Husker in the 1970s created quite an uproar as I recall. My grandparents and aunt were spitting angry over it.
