75 Down - five letters.

Clue is "Big East Sch."

It was tougher back when there was 16 possibilities to go through various abbreviations.

Well that about sums it up, ESPN conspired to destroy the Big East so this crossword clue would be too easy, leading to diminishing interest in the New York Times and the eventual eradication of the newspaper!

There is more to this:
64 across is "Request to attend party" 10 letters.
25 down "Tom Hanks kids movie" 3 letters
12 across "Pearl Jam album" 3 letters

and the kicker:
52 down "annual Irish celebration" 13 letters

This can only mean one thing. We're getting the Big Ten invitation around St. Patrick's Day.

Hmmm...........................................'PeeCe'

The clue should have been... "NYC's college team." Would have made things much easier.

Hope Delaney and Swofford were doing the crossword puzzle.
