Congrats to Kia for a great job on and off the court. Go Huskies!!

Even more amazing since she's doing it in a foreign country and fighting the language barrier! ;)

Dang - you beat me to this!

Speaking of a language barrier, kudos to Sigi Koizar of Maine. She is from Vienna, Austria, and has a 3.96 GPA in Biology. Well done!

What is an "exploratory major"? Is it the same as undeclared?

Congratulations to Kia.....Seems like both last years Kiah , and this years Kia , both have done well academically.

GO KIA(H).

It is similar to being "undeclared". My oldest daughter attended UCONN with several unrefined interests. She entered the Exploratory Studies program to do what it suggests, explore various interests in order to make a sound decision by Junior year, if not sooner. Kia is the only Sophomore in her group. Majors are generally declared by Junior year. This approach makes sense since many students change their major several times in the course of the college experience, often taking five or more years to graduate. The Exploratory Studies approach can save time and expense as it did in my daughter's case. She eventually pursued Kinesiology with a focus on Sports Management, and continues to work for a hated rival of the Red Sox.

Not to be the contrarian guy, but isn't Kia from Ontario, and as such, aren't Ontario primary and secondary schools all anglophone like Uconn?

In other words, unless she's going to college in quebec or grew up in that province, what language barrier is anyone referring to?
