Kia Nurse is a 2014 6-0 player, down to Indiana, UConn, Penn St & Tenn. Starting guard on Canadian national team & niece of Donovan McNabb.

IIRC, she's got some personal connection to Indiana, but still would be a shocking choice. The Hoosiers are a perpetually bad team.

I would think Achonwa would tell Nurse to go to Notre Dame. They need a 3 (SF) badly, Cable is a weak link.

Miller has been recruiting Nurse the longest. He has a relationship with the family as he coached Kia's sister after she transferred from Oregon to Bowling Green. Nurse visited Indiana last year but I'm not sure if she has visited recently.

I'd be surprised if Nurse chose Indiana but stranger things have happened. The report that she's now down to 4 schools (dropping Kentucky) comes from an Indiana reporter. Still, I think her inclusion of Indiana as a finalists is a nod to Miller and the relationship. Among the other schools it looks like UConn is her first visit, but I'm not 100% certain of that.

Courtney Pilypaitis was her roommate at the FIBA tournament in Mexico and I'm sure told her she'd be crazy not to go to UConn. Pilypaitis (played for Vermont against UConn in 2008-2009) is a long-time UConn fan.

I am pretty sure Uconn is her first official visit and her dad said they were not committed to taking all their visits - if she finds a place she feels is right she will commit. A'ja seems to be the deliberate one.

I think that's right. I'm pretty sure she made an unofficial visit to Indiana last year.
