82-67 ND

The Irish led pretty much all the way and pulled away late despite an awful shooting game from Loyd. Turner had 14 points, 16 boards, and 5 blocks. On the other side, Canada impressed again but not much else to write home about. And how come Irish opponents can't hit free throws? UCLA an embarrassing 14-27 from the line and that number was inflated late.

One other game to note. Kentucky had to pull away late to beat 3-8 Tennessee State by 12 at home. The same Tennessee State team that lost to the Vols by 50. The WildCats were outshot 45% to 39%.

Kentucky played without Bria Goss and Jennifer ONiel. Not sure why O'Niel was out

..and, Seton Hall beat #14 Georgia by almost 20..

ND is young and not balanced. Turner shows promise. Reimer is a major disappointment. Allen and Lloyd are really solid. They will never beat UCONN unless the talent, especially bigs are upgraded....beyond Turner.

They beat UConn a bunch of times in recent years with a guard-oriented lineup. Their incoming class looks great on paper and they've got a ton returning. I make them the biggest threat to UConn next year ahead of SC, Tenn, Baylor, and Texas.

Syracuse turns it around in the second half and beats Cornell by 16.

Agreed. And next year they add Ogunbowale and Patberg. for 2016 they already have Boley and top 20 kid Jackie Young.

Whoever is in charge of scheduling for UCLA bit off way more than this young team could chew: http://espn.go.com/womens-college-basketball/team/_/id/26/ucla-bruins

4 out of their top 7 players are freshman, another one is a redshirt sophomore. They are 4-7, but 5 of those losses are to: #2 UConn, #4 ND, #3 Texas, #9 UNC, #12 Nebraska. Another one is to 1-loss JMU (ranked #24 in Coaches poll), and then Miami is a sucky loss but those happen with young teams.

UCLA has sure been through the fire, but have they gained confidence? Time will tell. It's impossible to know how good they actually are.
