I suggested during the Christmas break that it was possible for ND to lose 16 games this year, they did! They were never in this game. Louisville was NOT a gracious host today. They took advantage of every individual and team deficiency on every possession. :D

I'm so torn up that my prediction of Muffet's finest hour didn't come true in this game. How can I express my sadness?

I can see that, no problem.
However, on occasion I'm being flamed. I don't care to be flamed. And won't tolerate it.

Just like 'most' here, I'm here to post on the games. Nothing more, nothing less.

However, if one insist on a flame. . . bring it on.
To be, or not to be. That is the question.
Is this the best you got?
Wrong thread for you.
Get your own material.
He's here to post on the game. In invisible ink?

1. This is a Notre Dame-Louisville thread
2. on a UConn board
3. n.b., arrogance is not a virtue

You're welcome.

This will be a very difficult game to watch if you are a ND fan.
That's why I don't watch live anymore this year. Stopped watching after the 1st BC loss. Last several years. Never missed a game. Luckily I have the Ducks and Beavers who have been far more rewarding to watch.

Hope they can turn it around next year. After finally beating UConn their last year in the Big East (until the Final 4 when it mattered most) and then running off 6 straight years of ACC dominance, this has been massively disappointing. Never expected this type of fall off no matter how great our team was the last 2 years. Hope the can recover next year.

I want to stress - not a Notre Dame fan - but not a "hater" either. It is just sad to see a program that was that good be that bad, even if they do turn it around next year.

Good to see Coach Muffet McGraw is keeping a stiff upper lip.

Just curious.... do you feel the same way about the flagship public school of North Carolina?

If that is UNC - yes, I would like them to do well, as I like Courney Banghart as a coach - we wanted her to get strong consideration at Rutgers as a successor to CVS, but alas, it looks like that ship sailed. That was NOT the case when Sylvia was there.

I also tend to root for NC State to do ok. I am not a huge Wes Moore fan, but think he is a heck of a coach (it has to do with when Rutgers lost to Chattanooga in the NCAA's some years back) and the legacy of Kay Yow, whom we met when t he Kay Yow foundation was announced at Rutgers, in fact my wife gave her a hug as we were seated at the table she walked by as she entered the room (really, a back corner of the arena where pre-game meals were held for donors by the fundraising group, not for free).

Duke is more complicated. I rooted for them under GG, but have disliked the current coach since her days at Michigan State. If they change coaches I expect to be cool with them again.

As you can tell, in most cases I am very coach oriented in who I am likely to root for in general. Of course, I root for Arizona and Rutgers first, and most PAC and Big Ten teams in general. There are teams that I dislike because of the school, not the coach, but in general, I root for the coaches I like to do well, and for the ones I don't, not so much.

Is Mulder all there? It seems like his posts are getting more strange with every passing week.
We quashed this yesterday. Everyone is back to posting on basketball.

The Lady Horns need a win against The Mountaineers.

Well thank you for your detailed response. I see that I didnt properly pose the question as I was talking about the Tar Heel men...... a perennial contender who has fallen on hard times this year. Do you share similar concerns on a good program suffering historic lows... or is it just for WCBB ?

I follow men's basketball not at all. As a resident of Tucson and supporter of Arizona I root (in the abstract) for Arizona men and as a Rutgers Alum I root for Rutgers as well. I do not watch men's BB on TV, and have only attended 1 game - Rutgers appearance in the NIT at the Garden.

I do know about the Tar Heel men because I watch "PTI" - really the only sports talk show we watch.
