Why did Coach McGraw switch from zone defense in the first half to man to man in the second half?

Clearly Zone was working better.

Like Uconn, ND , right now, has no depth
They were in a zone to protect themselves from early foul trouble
Once they get to the second half it becomes less of a concern
However, they were so concerned , in the first half they really didn't guard anybody
