Fairfield U did a HORRENDOUS job marketing this event. I had to work like crazy to find out when and where to buy tickets. No local media coverage, no advertising until the week before. Quite frankly I thought the event had been sold out and I was ready to go to a scalper or stubhub.
You want to spend money? Go to the BE Men's tourney. True Husky fans are not going to quibble about $15 parking to attend an NCAA event in their backyard.
I think that if the event had been better marketed, there would have been a sell-out to see the mighty UConn Huskies.

The vast majority of women's team fans are seniors living on a limited income. $15 really does represent a hardship for many of them.

But you wouldn't know that when you bought the tickets so you cann't say it was a deterrent

The tickets are $41 for a single game. Again, it's a hardship for seniors. Perhaps they're waiting for a more competitive game to spend their money on.

You have to understand that UConn women's fans are expected to open their wallets for season's tix to Gampel (~$200) and the HCC (~$100). Then we're supposed to buy Big East tournament tickets ($99) and now Subregional ($62 for the package, $41 per game) AND Regional tickets ($50). It's a lot of money for something we can see on TV without the painful walking up and down steps with our bad knees and backs.

Don't blame Fairfield U. Everyone knows they are in town.
If fans really wanted to attend the games they would be there.
Bottom line is that the parking and ticket prices are way too high.
Why is that so hard to comprehend???

Does anyone think that having the state high school finals the same day at Mohegan Sun had an effect on attendance???

lol no, not at all.. True Husky fans don't want to pay an arm and a leg to watch their team destroy an opponent.. 15$ for parking on top of the most expensive ticket prices of any first/second round site.. Unless they were selling the tickets for $15 a piece, there's no way that would have been sold out even if the President endorsed it
