As much as some people want this to be about Calhoun (because they think he had something to do with Ollie being fired for cause), it isn't...at all. It is about what happened at Tennessee and he even went out of his way to avoid what happened with the men's team. And, on top of all that, he is right.

Geno is referring to the Tenn. situation and Pat's [heavy] influence on Holly following her.

When the decision was made for Pat to leave the job, her first public reaction was to say she felt she was being 'forced out'. There was no way...zero...that the administration could let that stand for PR purposes.
Maybe 2 or 3 days later Pat recanted and said she did not feel she was forced out.

With just a tad of cynicism I suspect the AD gave her something to encourage her recantation.
What? Maybe a nice boost in her coach emeritus salary? Also...maybe full power to name the new coach?
As far as I recall they made no effort for a national search....none. Pat obviously felt a great deal of loyalty to her #1 assistant....and so Holly got the job.

Her recruiting has been very good....perhaps due to the name Tennessee.
Their underachievement has trumped that on a consistent basis.

It's unbelievable that this is the 11th year in a row with no LadyVol in the final 4...maybe the first 3 or 4 under Pat....the remaining under Holly.
