Something else must be going on with Notre Dame. They should have a enough talent to be more competitive and win some of these games. McGraw is suppose to be one of the best coach in the country and her team looks that bad.

Where is Arike Ogunbowale when you need her?
She can put up 22 in the 4th.

OMG BEST post I've seen in a long time. I actually laughed out loud. Scared my cat who was sitting on my shoulder!

I don’t quite know what to say about her response. This is college sports, not life and death. What is she going to fix? What should it look like if she is able to fix it? Set some reasonable goals for this team and try to achieve them. Forget the wins and losses for now. Give yourself a break. It’ll be okay.

Someone on Volleytalk always uses this GIF to characterize the endless internecine wars about relatively arcane topics. It's a keeper

That's actually sad. She's clearly emotional and in tears. "I keep trying to find answers and am gonna try and fix it, but I can't find the answers". If she were any other coach, I'd probably feel badly for her, but A) it's ND and B) it's Muffet, so no, I don't feel any sympathy.

When you have as many transfers as they have had the past 3 years or so (good players too, not low ranked reserve types), one has to look to how they do things - both in recruiting (making promises she doens't keep), and in how she coaches/treats kids when they get there (factor in the transfers), it's time for something to change. She needs to do some serious soul searching IMHO...

It's my impression (rumors) that she's NOT particularly well liked in the coaching community. She was ungracious when Stewie won the NPOY. She's been a bit passive/aggressive with UCONN and Geno. I certainly don't dislike them as much as Tennessee, but I will shed no tears for ND, that's for sure.

I knew I'd seen it several times before. The GIF game is strong on VT.

That was the first thing that occurred to me: It's just a freakin' game, get over yourself already. People the world over are dying of curable diseases and senseless violence, and you're boohooing over some game. You want to show that women can be leaders? Put on your grownup britches and show some perspective.

Roughly 150-175 teams in the country are experiencing losing seasons. Are those coaches embarrassing themselves in press conferences like she is? Again, get some perspective and get over yourself.

It seriously is. Sometimes I wonder that they must have all the time in the world looking for their appropriate GIF's or have them ready to post at any certain time. VT can be very vicious and rowdy especially with some of the posters on there.

MM is always talking about how strong a women she is & wants to be a role model for all young ladies...IMO she is testing a poor example..This is not what I would want my daughter to see.

This is not a good look.
Coach Muffet will make the best of this bad situation.
All due respect, she hasn't been able to do anything thus far and frankly, it's getting worse. These press conferences have now taken a quick spiral down on her composure. As a head coach to be on the verge of tears in this pressers is unbecoming, unprofessional and not a good look for the school. Her next conference loss will be her 5th this year and in the previous 6 years, ND had only lost at total of 5 games!
I am not a huge MM fan, I respect her past teams and the institution however her behavior has always been on the verge of poor professionalism and downright disrespectful at times. This is now continuing the poor professionalism. Suck it up, show the competitive spirit you tout to your team and battle back. My gosh...

Maybe throwing your players under the bus after a previous loss has something to do with your team's current predicament?
And I am sure the tears will help fix the situation.

LaChina is desperate for talking points. Now showing the ND assistant coaches' kids and talking about each of their names and the movie "Parent Trap". You know what they say about sitcoms: when they interject the cute kids you know they've jumped the shark.
What does this even mean? Is it a new WBB term?;);););)

They would've needed more than that because they just lost by 34.

The pattern and rate of transfers from teams that are relatively successful has me wondering who will stick around after this season draws to a merciful close? If these pressers is how she talks in front of the basketball world I can only imagine what gets said behind closed doors or during practice. No sympathy for the staff but hard not to feel it for the young women who never signed on for this.

The A.D need to step in and insist Coach McGraw take 2 weeks off. Return 02-02 against Georgia Tech.
Her competent staff can hold down the fort while she's out on R&R.

The school cannot have her breaking down again after another tough loss.

There is no telling what will happen if Louisville blows them out.

Wow there! Jeff has deserved to give the Irish a beatdown on a Nationally televised game and have to have MM bear the brunt of the handshake and presser for all the nasty stuff she has said about his team and lack of respect to Asia Durr. Then she can take a few games off after that...

It’s about time they uploaded the whole press conference.

The skeptic in me says that MM has run out of things to try to motivate her team and is putting on this show to light a real fire under their butts, like when a coach intentionally getting T-up:rolleyes:

I am not a liker of the Golden Domers but I think it is just terrible that those reporters didn't stop after the MM breakdown. They were not going to learn anything from that point on.
