I think you're right. I actually hope that the fairly solid performances of Central, Quinnipiac and UConn give some ammunition to the notion that the northeast is better than it seems.
Its great to see the Northeast and in particular, the state of CT, well represented in the CWS. I remember when Maine, St Johns and Yale were also heavy hitters in the Northeast along with UConn. While the weather does have it's drawbacks, there is some darn good baseball (and softball = Eastern CSU) played in these parts

Fairfield University just built a new stadium. QU will probably build a new one soon.

The northeast performs well at the D2 and D3 levels.

We have quite an impressive Frankenstein conference. I wouldn't be surprised if we get more at large bids in the future.

The NBE is a one-bid league.

The AAC is generally good for 3 or 4 bids in baseball each season. That's terrific considering the P5 conferences eat up so many at large bids these days.

Biggest comeback that I can remember for the Noles...

....FSU lost 13 of 20 in one stretch but pulled out of the tailspin and made one of the last four teams in. First 3 seed ever for Mike Martin.

....In the three games they played this magical weekend:

Forty-five hits. Thirty-five runs. And they outscored the No. 4 national seed Bulldogs, 22-4, in two games on the Bulldogs diamond.

Michigan...the lone team remaining east of the Mississippi and north of Kentucky.

Been a long time...but back in the early-mid 60's, the Big Ten's OSU, Michigan, and Minnesota were winning the CWS.

Louisville used two pitchers...one pitched 7 innings...and the other closed.

It was smart of ECU to save some pitchers with the game already lopsided.

Duke poured across 18 runs and Louisville 14...they are hitting the ball.

If TTU hadn't gotten up by two early, it might have been a different ball game. Took OK State a while to get going.
