Non Conference Schedule Released

Yikes. That’s an awful home slate. Nobody projected to be ranked above 200th.
Wrong.

Buffalo and UNC-Wilmington are decent teams.

I believe Oklahoma State is ranked above #200 too (joke).

Stonehill, eh? Is anyone not DI these days?
First season in the NEC.

Only 1 OOC away game @ Florida unless you count oregon

Hope that doesn’t come back to bite them come selection Sunday
We're not in the AAC anymore.

would have liked a good home game before facing orgeon in the PKI that's a must win. i dont care if we lose the second game we just need to get into the winner's bracket.

You’re right I missed Ok St at home. UNC Wilmington is projected to be #204 this year and Buffalo #245.

All of these teams from 2022 final Kenpom:

Stonehill - lol
Boston University - 214 (Q4)
Buffalo - 130 (Q3)
UNC Wilmington - 146 (Q3)
Delaware St - 356 (Q4)
Oregon - 80 (Q2)
Alabama - 28 (Q1) or Michigan St - 42 (Q1)
Oklahoma State - 34 (Q1)
Florida - 59 (Q1)

Our resume and seeding the last two seasons were bolstered by a huge OOC win. Looks like the PK Invitational is our only chance to grab one of those wins. Gotta get into the winners bracket

Delaware St - 349 (Q4)

Oklahoma State - 30 (Q1)
Florida - 26 (Q1)
LIU - 293 (Q4)

Buffalo is a great surprise, and only Stonehill (D2) and Deleware St are sub-300. Much better than last year. 6 of 11 games likely against top 100 teams, with UNC Wilmington top 150 - so only 4 real cupcakes
Stonehill is D1 now. In the NEC

Too early to get myself hopeful for 3 Q1 wins and a PKI championship?

Compared to last year’s it’s an improvement. We had 5 games against 290+ teams(!!) Still doesn’t move the needle though, they need to continue to make scheduling a priority.

CCSU - 346
Coppin St - 300
LIU - 235
Binghamton - 290
Auburn - 12
MSU - 42
VCU - 63
Maryland Eastern Shore - 313
Grambling St. - 303
WVU - 66
St. Bonaventure - 78

This is a step in the right direction. There is a room for improvement, but much better than last season.
It is still ew. We should be playing 7 major conference opponents OOC, not 5. Buffalo and BU are decent mid majors but the rest leave a lot to be desired.

Ok let me take a stab at the location splits

Monday - 11/7 - Stonehill - Gampel
Friday - 11/11 - BU - XL
Tuesday - 11/15 - Buffalo - XL
Fri - 11/18 - UNCW - Gampel (WWE at XL)
Sun - 11/20 - Delaware St - Gampel (Women v NCSt at XL)
Thurs - 12/1 - Ok St - XL
Sat - 12/10 - Long Island - Gampel (Pack at XL)

Can’t see them leaving Campus on Fridays but i dont think it will be a 5-2 split. So lets guess one Friday at XL. Stonehill cant be at XL on a Monday, just can’t be. Had Delaware St set as an XL but gotta imagine Women vs NC State is a huge sales opportunity for XL. So then 4 - 3 Gampel OOC and assuming BE games go 5-5 to create 9 in Gampel and 8 at XL

The two best games (Okie State and Buffalo) being at XL would be welcome with me.

The complaints about the non-conference schedule are a bit tired at this point, especially considering the strength of the Big East.

Looking at UNC and Duke’s non-con schedules, and some other schools, our balance is not thaaat much different.

We have the opportunity to potentially play

Oregon
Alabama
UNC
Oklahoma St
Florida

The cupcakes are not as terrible as last season. I’m content with this schedule. Would’ve been nice to have a Harvard, Vermont or Yale thrown in there, but it doesn’t make that much of a difference. The Big East is going to be a ton of fun with Creighton, Nova, PC, Shaheen Holloway, Thad Matta, Sean Miller, etc.
