Sun., Nov. 1 Tampa (exhibition)- An obvious blowout. W
Sat., Nov. 7 New Haven (exhibition)- Another obvious blowout. W
Fri., Nov. 13 Maine- From the tip we are in control. Don't believe a repeat of Bryant from last year will occur where we are losing for a decent part of the game. W
Tues., Nov. 17 New Hampshire- Wouldn't be surprised if we had a game against a bad , non- conference team where we come out slow and are playing from behind for most of the first half, and maybe a little bit in the second half. This might be one of those games. UNH gave us a little scare the year we won with Kemba and company. This might be one of those games. But, KO will rally the troops and we will walk away with the win. W
Sat., Nov. 21 Furman- No one over 6'9 means a big game for D-Ham and Brimah who lead us to a 25+ point win. W
Wed., Nov. 25 at Battle 4 Atlantis- can't say now because we don't know, but Uconn is more than capable of bringing home the trophy. However, with the additions of 4 new rotation players/starters, chemistry might be a problem this early in the season and I see us losing a game in the Bahamas.
Thurs., Nov. 26 at Battle 4 Atlantis-
Fri., Nov. 27 at Battle 4 Atlantis-
Wed., Dec. 2 Sacred Heart- We come out of Atlantis hungry and take it to Sacred Heart. W
Tues., Dec. 8 vs. Maryland (MSG)- First tough test excluding Battle 4 Atlantis. However, it's at our second home. UConn fans will pack the house and will overpower Maryland fans. Maryland loses its "star" in Dez Wells but will return Melo Trimble and Jake Layman along with the addition of only 2 new recruits- one of which is Diamond Stone. Overall I see our depth, experience, talent, and matchup problems being too much to handle and UConn walks out of the garden with a win. W
Sat., Dec. 12 Ohio State- Ohio State brings back no double digit scorers but adds 5 new recruits. Whether the game is at Gample or XL, UConn fans will pack the house and once again, our depth, talent and experience will prove to be too much as UConn wins back to back tough non-conference games. W
Sun., Dec. 20 UMass-Lowell- An expected win and a "break" after beating two tough teams. We are on a roll. W
Wed., Dec. 23 Central Connecticut- No explanation needed. W
Tues., Dec. 29 at Texas- Last year saw a heart-breaking loss to Texas. We had them beat last year, just didn't finish. Texas is losing two important players in Turner and Holmes but they do return the bulk of their team including Isaiah Taylor, Felix, and Ridley. They do add 3 new recruits, all 4 stars. This is a game that we should win so I think KO fires up the guys and leave Austin with a dominant win just like we did in the 10-11 season. W
Sat., Jan. 23 Georgetown- Last OOC game revives an old Big East rivalry. UConn is out to prove a statement to their old Big East foe and they do just that with a win in our last OOC game. W
Overall , our depth, talent, experience, and numerous scoring threats prove to be too much for our non-conference opponents. Walking away from the OOC schedule with one loss is best case scenario, but who knows? Could be better or could be worse. Let me know what you guys think.
