Nolan had quiet yet effective game

he had a couple nice post moves, but he had a tough defensive game. He is too in love with the charge now, and KO got in his ear about it. He got pushed around underneath defensively.

7 points and 3 boards.

Add that to AB and it is a very respectable 16 points and 9 rebounds from the five.

Very respectable? That's out-friggin-standing. Plus being absolutely clutch at the end of regulation, and from the stripe later on.

If we got that for the rest of the tournament, we'd be one of the most dangerous teams out there.

This. I do not want to see Nolan going for the charge against Nova. He is like 10% successful with that. Just go straight up and hope they miss.

Yup, he drew two in a row a few weeks ago and now it's flop city, and the refs aren't giving him the benefit out the doubt.

Will never understand why a 6'9" center would rather take a charge then contest a shot.

The charge attempts sucked, but I'll take 7 pts and 3 boards out of Nolan over 1 foul, 0 pts, 0 rebounds any day. Way to bounce back PN.

Those stats are like double-double equivalent for Phil. I'll take some more.

The problem was Phil's 3 turnovers and being pushed around defensively. I hesitate to call it a good game. It wasn't. Phil has regressed.

It was a contribution on a day we needed everyone.

He is an offensive option from 1 foot away, he did fling a couple wild bricks up there but I thought he played well.

How do I put this as to not offend the sensitive crowd. Phil was less of a liability last night.

I agree, he had 7 points but he didn't play well by any stretch. #13 dominated him head to head. I can't imagine the matchups get easier going forward.

I like it that is trying to draw charges. He has been short-changed a few times lately. The alternative is what we saw early in the year, where he would keep being called for defensive fouls and have a quizzical look on his face and the opponent often scored as well. Draw those charges PN!

Ehh! When he puts together several solid efforts in a row then ill compliment him on something. in the meant time he stinks!

The funny thing is his offense is miles ahead of his defense. Usually it is the other way around. UCONN needs him to play big against Nova

It's because he took a late charge against Rutgers (Rutgers!) and everyone patted him on the head. Screw that. His main job now is to play smart while Brimah is getting a blow.

I look at it this way - one fewer point from anyone, Nolan included, and we don't get to OT.

And his offense is lousy, which is not good I guess. Hopefully he or Olander can give some good minutes in spots.
