I knew Morgan was watching her but apparently Noelle has a scholarship offer from the Huskies
Apparently the offer was given a year ago or more. Geno has learned he can no longer wait until a girl’s junior year to offer schollies. From the videos I’ve seen, Noelle is not as polished as Vukosa and her development has been at a slower pace than Gandy’s. I wonder if this isn’t an “insurance” offer to be sure Geno doesn’t have to play big guards in the post again. All of the recent injuries probably have the coaches skittish about being caught with a short bench againIf she does in fact have an offer I'm a little surprised and curious because there's a couple of interesting things here. Assuming GA fills the one open roster spot with a one year player, then barring any transfers that would leave 3 open spots for the 2026 class with Ducharme and Fudd leaving. He has several offers out for that class which is loaded, the biggest (literally and figuratively) being Vukosa. This kid (we'll call her Bofia for brevity) is very similar to Gandy in size, skillsets, and developmental level. If GA felt confident he would get Vukosa, would he want to bring in another developmental big and use up 2 of those 3 2026 spots on bigs with Gandy only a year ahead? With El Alfy and Brady still around that's a lot of bigs. So I'm concerned about where Vukosa might be leaning.
Another interesting note on this kid. She appears to have two names. In the media and social media she is called Noelle Bofia. However, on the Arizona Prep Girls Hoops ranking site she is listed as #1 Irene Noelle Guiamatsia and on HoopGurlz 2026 she is #39 Irene Guiamatsia. This will be interesting to follow.
I understand the thinking behind this and agree with it. But that's what he did with Gandy this year to cover the next few years. I question the need to do it two years in a row. Obviously early impact recruits are most coach's priority and 2026 has more of them than usual. With a almost full roster and coming off a championship, GA may be able to get more than one of those but he needs roster space to fit them in. The question is, does he want to take up two roster spots with insurance kids? It probably won't matter because I think Bofia will stay somewhat local out west where PT would be more likely along with family accessibility.Apparently the offer was given a year ago or more.
