Interesting. Right now I get the B1G through FIOS (I live in NJ), but I guess if they're raising their cost from .15 to .80 they may stop carrying it. I don't think any of the major cable companies carry it at all, and they're real scrappy around here when it comes to this stuff. One of the cable companies (Cablevision maybe?) cancelled FOX while the Yankees were in the World Series a few year ago. If they'd do that there's no telling what kind of hard ball they'll play for the B1G network. That would be a shame if the practical change for Rutgers fans is they can't watch a few of their games on TV. Money's nice, but as a fan watching the games is much more important.

FIOS is threatening to cut AMC, and they only want to raise from .40 to .75. That's about half the increase of the B1G network and I guarantee AMC's ratings make the B1G's look like spit

Yeah. I can imagine the cable/satellite companies phones are going to be ringing off the hook when people can't watch their Rutgers basketball games on TV. ;)

They won't be ringing off the hook, but the plan seems to be to go "put the B1G Network on the basic tier or say goodbye to YES, or even the entire Fox family of channels".

It could work that way.

If the BTN carried UConn men's and women's bball games, it would be a must carry for Connecticut cable systems. The same can't be said for NJ systems or eastern Mass systems (BC rumors).

Yeah, good luck with that. Fox would be unlikely to cut off its nose to spite its face...

I would suggest that you ask that source for that statement whether they are accusing Fox of blatantly illegal antitrust activities. Or, more likely, ask yourself if your "source" on the internet is someone whom you would listen to in discussing antitrust issues.

I disagree...Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc. is one of the nation's leading manufacturers of high-quality firearms for the commercial sporting market.

Help me out...how is it anti-trust issue if they decide to bundle their products? Can't see them bundling the fox channels in any event.

I'm no lawyer but it hasn't been a secret that YES may be leverage for the BTN. It's not a new strategy - part of Time Warner's battle with MSG was over the requirement that they carry Fuse.
