I am sure lower than she expected coming to Uconn last year.

Congrats to Serah. Similar to Kaitlyn Chen's situation last year.
I like that there’s getting to be a nice tradition of the teammates of the overall #1 picks who were mostly there in a support role getting drafted themselves: Caitlin and Kate Martin, Paige and Kaitlyn and Aubrey, and now Azzi and Serah.

Maybe because there was at least three other draft related threads going on when she was drafted? That's where I commented on her media availability because it showed up on my YouTube feed very quickly. I also asked questions about her being drafted there. But maybe my posts were deleted because I mentioned something to the effect about how dressed up she was???

In her interview after being drafted, she indicated that she came to UConn with the idea of 'learning how to play on a team'. From a statistical perspective, if thats all that it is, and that is what it takes to elevate yourself in the draft, she probably would have been better to stay at Wisconsin and rack up the stats. 'Me, Me, Me' she stated is where she was at.

But to do that, then get drafted into the professional league(s) and have to go play for a 'team', well that takes some amount of transition time. I think we kind of felt a bit of that transition learning curve this season with her at UConn. In the long run, I think that having that transition time occur while in college, particularly playing under the UConn coaching staff will pay off in spades for her.

I look forward to seeing how she prospers!

When Sarah is the overall #1 pick in two years, we might see that with Allie, Kayleigh and Jana.

Remote she makes the team but hoping otherwise. Portland drafted a lot off ladies but the number of open roster slots doesn’t align.

The one thing, well, maybe not the only thing that helped Serah is that UConn is top tier as to preparing players for the W. A number of coaches have said in the past that they know what they are getting when drafting a Husky. I hope that Serah uses that knowledge and preparation to have a good pro career.

I’d have liked to see her in Connecticut with Aaliyah and ONO, but the depth in the post with BG as well could’ve been to her detriment. I think she has a great chance at making the Portland roster while being mentored by one of the all time greats in Sylvia Fowles. Go Serah!

Hopefully they are playing well enough to know they are getting drafted ahead of time.
Serah was on every mock draft I looked at, mostly for round 2, so it was not a huge surprise that she was selected.

I like her now in Portland. Won't be winning a lot, but much better chance to make roster. Also since they traded for her, that's a good indication they plan on keeping her.

Good luck to Serah!
