Many comparisons have been made between this year's team and others from the past. But of the four championships won by the Threemendous ones, which team of the four was the greatest or at least the most dominant or maybe just your favorite and why?

I chose 2014. In addition to Stewie, Mo and Morgan, we still had Steph, Bria, Kiah and Kaleena. We were undefeated and trashed Stanford and ND in the finals. What could be better than that?

I voted this years team. Margin of victory. 3 top WNBA picks. You can't control who you play in the tourney. It is amazing that your weakest link in your starting five, if you want to call it that, was the number one recruit in America the previous year.

Totally agree. That season was the most enjoyable for me. Stephanie Dolson was such a pleasure to watch, running the offense from the high post. Nobody set a killer screen like her. Given where she started as a freshman, it was such a joy to see her develop her shooting range, passing, and court movement with all her foot/leg troubles behind her. She also had the biggest smile no matter the game situation. This was Tuck's injury-redshirt year, so she wasn't much involved. Auriemma basically used the other 6 exclusively in every game, requiring tremendous concentration and control from each starter to avoid foul trouble, the only situation beside injury that could slow that team down. They had all the parts.

As dominant as this year was, have to say 2014.

I too Voted 2014........We had the Big-3 , went Undefeated , won the NC . Plus , it was the first time that 2 Undefeated teams had ever met for the NC and UCONN knocked ND out to win the NC. Ruining ND bid to have their first undefeated season.

2014 also has the distinction of having 5 two time All Americans in the starting line-up plus Morgan (one time AA) and Kiah Stokes, first round WNBA. 6 first round WNBA picks. Plus 40 - 0, all double digit wins and a NC.

had to vote for this year. Stewart was at another level this year - just as Diana predicted, and Jefferson and Tuck were as well. The support staff was fabulous, and those three were magic!

Not sure if this vid has been posted yet, but this is a good listen.
Swin doesn't pick the greatest, but she says ''not this year's team.''
She tells a little story about Geno comparing a past team to the Yankees. Classic!

That was the year Morgan missed most of the season.

Trashing Tennessee would've made it even better.

I make the case for the first one. It was supposed to be Baylors year and we got to trounce Dame in the semis. That was very satisfying.

Swin is never going to give it up! Just like Sue. You had to be there to see what they lived.

If we are talking about end of the season play then I have to give this years team the edge . Stewie ,Mo and Morgan were on a different plane then you throw in Lou's end of season jump. Kiah , Gabby and Napheesa completed the great team they were.

Agree-this year's TEAM. Would say there have been other years such as 2014 with more talent, but this year's team excelled at every aspect of game. While great in the past, I have never seen a combination of clutch offense and shut down defense as Mo played this year. Same for Stewie-no one has ever played better defense, rebounded better or shot better inside and out. Tuck, ditto, at her all time clutch best at both ends. In any case, great to have this conversation. Most schools just happy to make Final 4.

It's close between 2014 and 2016 on dominance.

As for my favorite, I'd have to go for 2013. There's something to be said for winning it when you aren't the favorite heading into the tournament (or even the 2nd favorite).

Incidentally, despite all the great games Stewart has had over her career, that game in the 2013 Final Four against Notre Dame remains my all time favorite Stewie performance. To not merely beat a team that had given us so much trouble, but swat them aside with the help of her 29 points...that was immensely satisfying. Stewie's arrival game. :D

2013 Griner was still around.... We lost to Notre Dame 3 times. It was the year we won when no one expected us to. Baylor was favored. Also... Kelly Faris was a book end champion and we beat ND in the Final Four

Well, for my very first post as a new member of the Boneyard, let me, with great admiration and awe, choose this year's team because of the slam dunk that just occurred at the 20th WNBA draft....

Congratulations!!!

The Stewie, Mo and Morgan of this year were better players than the Stewie, Mo and Morgan of past years. I'm going with the team that had the best 3 players.

2013, no doubt in my mine. The others were all a coronation, basically. I had no expectations in 2013 and even skipped watching the semifinal to go to the Rangers game because I couldn't stand another loss to ND. When my husband told me we had won by 20 I refused to believe it until we got home.

I agree that was her most memorable game.

As she shouldn't. IMO the 2002 team vs this team is a pick 'em for the best ever. Swin was the ff MVP. In her last game. -- The great guards of Bird and DT had an awful shooting night. So Swin and her other three starting teammates whom she often refers to as "her sisters" proceeded to CRUSH Oklahoma on the glass.

Watching that game vs Texas, watching how the smaller sophomore didn't do so bad guarding Stewie -- Tamika was better than that kid. At least you know Swin believes that (I do too). And if her team pounded the opponent on the glass in the finals, and she probably saw the Texas game, imo she then HAS TO BELIEVE her and her sisters would put a hurt on this team on the glass as the game wore on.

Oh ye of little faith. An honest women in the desert. I will take this occasion to remind everyone that I and you should know how to press the like button for a post we may not necessarily agree with, but is worthy of respect. I do it all the time. Best part, it keeps my "he's crazy" reputation intact. It's liberating. Try it.

I'm going with this years team for a few reasons. First I will get out of the way three AA's and the first three picks in the WNBA draft kind of sets them apart. Of course the undefeated season and another NC helps. :D
The ball movement of this team was incomparable to anything I have ever seen at any level. The leadership on the floor with Mo and Stewie was something special. One of my favorite plays of the season was the team coming down the floor and Stewie shoving Katie as she went by on the wing and pointing to the top of the key. Katie went to where directed, Stewie proceeded to the corner where she took a pass from across the floor and immediately kicked it to Katie who was wide open and drained a three. It was the start of the end for other teams and Katie having a now I get it moment.
This team had two floor generals and they were both on the same page at all times. That and of course a great surrounding staff that included Tuck the silent but deadly. ;)
