Calhoun teams won for years because they could out-rebound you. They got so many easy baskets on put backs. Guards got out on the break earlier because the big men controlled the boards and they didn't need to crash. They also blocked a ton of shots, which allowed the guards to play more aggressive and be more disruptive on the perimeter. While I prefer teams that block shots, I agree that you can win without a 7 footer turning away everything in sight if you have a great offense. What you can't win without is rebounding. As long as UConn has guys that are allergic to rebounding playing down low they won't win #4.
