I partially agree with this sentiment in that other programs succeeding instead of the same old blue bloods helps grow the sport.

However, UConn is like the Yankees/Lakers/Cowboys of their sport in that people watch because they love them or they love to watch them lose. Then once these type of polarizing teams are out the casual fans don't care as much anymore.

UConn's dynasty is officially dead. That's good news for women's college basketball.

The UConn women's basketball team is clearly not the dominant force it once was, as evidenced by its earliest NCAA Tournament exit since 2005.
