As if we don't have enough WBB.

I noticed that Arizona Western (ranked 13)- a community college in Yuma is playing in the first round of D1 Playoffs against a community college called State Fair.https://www.chipola.edu/

I was a tad surprised to see, when looking at the Matador roster one Arizona players but on a short roster (only 7 players available) players from Portugal, Mali, Spain, France, Greece - and my wife's home town - Lincoln, Neb and Houston. The Matadors rush out to a quick 10 point lead over the State Fair Roadrunners (ranked 20) which I just googled and found located in Sedalia, Missouri. I was unaware that there were roadrunners in Missouri.

The winner faces a shoot out with Dodge City.

These two teams are in the side of the bracket with number one Chipola from Florida.

Bracket - lovely Casper, Wyoming.

FWIW, Pima College, the local community college in Tucson lost in the DII NJCAA Championship game. In Joplin, MO.

Lots of good programs out here.

Round one continues in Casper as Eastern Arizona takes on a 33 and 1 Olive Harvey team. Their only lost was 74-72.

The gila monsters from Eastern Arizona and safford are currently leading 15 to 10 as the first quarter winds down.

This is the opposite side of the bracket so wondering what the odds are that we have an all Arizona final. Yesterday Western did win to advance.

Both Arizona Western and Arizona Eastern advance. While the odds are dim I'm wondering if we might see an all Arizona final.

Round two and Arizona Eastern takes out McLennan 53-46 to advance! Arizona Western lost yesterday so Arizona hope for a title rest with the squad from Thatcher, Az

In Caspar quarterfinal action, the number 1 seeded Chipola battles, and battles in a loss as Shelton State advances to the semi.

Tipping in 15 minutes, Arizona Eastern faces off against Wabash Valley College.

Edit: and . . . in a later afternoon quarter, New Mexico JC boasts 2 NJCCA Player of the Year recipients - current season and past season.

During the first half adust up in Casper lead to player rejections for both Eastern Arizona and Wabash Valley. Of course I missed the dust up while I was getting my snacks.

In any event Eastern leads at the half by two in an effort to complete an upset to advance. They're out rebounding Wabash valley squad by 10 but turning the ball over way too much. Should be an exciting second half which I hope ends before the Texas Tennessee game.

Eastern Arizona holds on after blowing a double-digit fourth quarter lead to advance to the semis. Tremendous defensive pressure by Wabash as the game wound down.

Wabash inability to hit free throws (19 of 33) ultimately cost them any chance to win.

At least one Arizona school still balling in the post season.

The next game in 30 minutes has New Mexico Junior College, the team with two national players of the yea,r against a high scoring Dodge City team that put up 92 in their previous outing.

Eastern Arizona (28-6) tips against NW Florida (30-3) for a berth in the championship game against Shelton who almost blew a double digit lead to Dodge City to win in OT by one.

NW Florida, a successful program, has elementary school level jersey's.

uh oh. NW Florida may have elementary school jersey's but they are beasts and race to a quick 7 point lead . . . this team is physcial and very quick.
