I think that sums up the problem with MacEntee pretty nicely.

Naturally, of the 5 completions, 4 were touchdowns.

Also, he is 4-for-26 with 3rd and 9+. Forget first downs, he's thrown for 70 yards total, with 2 INT's and 2 sacks (how do you hold the ball in that situation?)

How has Scott McCummings done in 3rd and 9+? I can't tell you. Know why? Because he's never been in a 3rd and 9+ situation.

Worse can scenario. A team that ignored the passing game for years (didn't recruit well, didn't incorporate passing into its offense on a regular basis) suddenly finds themselves despirately needed it now. Too many 3rd and longs or 4th longs or too many games needed to play from behind. Hard to depend on something you ignore on a consistent basis and do nothing to promote.
