Nils Machowski Committed!

9 players averaged more than 13 minutes a game with AK averaging 34.4 minutes per game and no one else more than 28 minutes so we just might have a ten man rotation next year.
Depends who we get as a backup PF but I agree

We go through the ritual annually - out 10 man rotation always turns back into 8 max.
It was 9 in 23 and if samson didn’t get hurt maybe he’s the 10th man in the rotation at over 5mpg. Unless Hurely goes on record saying he will never play a 10 man rotation it’s a possibly

Yeah but Koroma only played in 17 games so I don’t really consider that being part of the rotation. Similar to Samson in 23 but If Samson didn’t get hurt and averaged ~5mpg in ~30 games I’d consider that a legit 10 man rotation

The only guys that got any real minutes when it mattered were Ross and Smith, only two value adds off the bench. Anyone else was mainly a breather with limited minutes.

23 was bench strategic, value add.

It was a 9 man rotation all season. Jaylin was hurt.

Rotation = course of the entire season. Not expecting 10 guys to play in the tourney. nba teams have a 12 or 13 man rotation during the regular season but cut it to 9 or 10 in the playoffs.

I see a bench as who brings value to a lineup when it matters/tourney. Not against Columbia.

Ok but that’s Not what we’re talking about. Don’t think anyone here expects 10 guys playing in a tourney game. And you’re also slicing the bologna pretty thin. You admitted we had a legit 9 man rotation in 23 so we’re talking about 1 more dude. It’s conceivable.

Diarra got one minute against SDSU, 3 against Miami - was really an 8 man rotation when it mattered.

There are rotation players that add value, there are breather players that go in just to spell the starter, where the coach rushes the starter back in because he sees the bench guy as a liability.

Idk why you keep going on about this. If a guy is averaging over 5mpg over the course of 30 games then he’s in the rotation in my book. You can define a rotation player anyway you want. agree to disagree.

Diarra was a valuable rotation player for us in 23 even if he didn’t play much in the tourney

He got some good minutes throughout the year, which more imperatively got him ready for 2024 as a great backup. Hurley didn't trust him when it counted in 2023.
