True enough, though I can't recall many players who have worked their way back into the league from abroad. The D-League would probably be a better option.

Fair enough, the one caveat, though, would be that Niels is a Euro already, so it's natural for him to play over there. As opposed to say, some kid from NYC going overseas in hopes to make it back stateside to the NBA. Might not throw up as many red flags?

there is a certain art to being able to hit contested, highly pressured shots that I think you either have or don't.
See ONE of the TWO HUGE 3s Giffey hit in the NC game in the 2nd half. Specifically, the one from straightaway. He received a bounce pass from Bazz with a defender (Poythress w/40" vertical) closing on him (~6:19) and, with ZERO hesitation, pulled the trigger and drained it. It doesn't get any more pressured than that, and he took it very quick to prevent the close out. He could easily be a Shane Battier type player in the NBA, given the right team and a bit more development.

He didn't shoot highly contested 3s on this team because that wasn't his job. The end results prove the efficacy of Ollie's job assignments.

He can shoot in the NBA - no doubt about that. The real question, in my view, is ball handling.

I really wish this kid the best. Good defender. Always came to play. Had a great senior season. Really developed into a solid 3 pt shooter. Hits free throws.Could stand to fill out some to last in the NBA, but I think he can play at the next level over seas at the very least.

It may take a couple of years, but I don't see why he can't do it. Work ethic won't be a problem. Athleticism/coordination won't be a problem. Given the opportunity to work on his game 24hrs per day without distractions, he should progress enough.

For him, the biggest thing is mentality. Being able to take a quick shot with a hand in your face and have the focus/concentration/killer instinct to take/hit the shot.
D league vs starring in Europe, possibly for big money.
Especially if Europe is your home. He has a big decision.
